Support LaserShoot during this legal challenge

Dear Valued Customers, Friends, and Supporters of LaserShoot,

For over 34 years, LaserShoot has proudly operated as an iconic entertainment destination on Sydney Harbour, delivering joy, excitement, and safe laser-based experiences to thousands of visitors from across Australia and beyond. Our dedication to fun, safety, and regulatory compliance remains at the heart of our operations, making us a cherished part of the local community.

On December 23, 2025, we received a Notice of Suspension (P485) from the NSW Police Force, which has temporarily suspended our firearms permit (Permit No. 41329273) for a period of one year, effective until December 23, 2026. The stated reason is that continuation of the permit is “Not in Public Interest.” This relates to our use of modified and imitation equipment essential to our laser game activities.

A copy of the notice is attached below for transparency.

We are disappointed by this decision and are committed to addressing it through appropriate legal channels. LaserShoot has always operated in full compliance with relevant legislation, including the Firearms Act 1996 and Weapons Prohibition Act 1998. Our equipment is designed exclusively for recreational purposes, with no capacity for live ammunition or harm, and we have upheld an exemplary safety record over our history. The items in question cannot be restored to functional firearms.

While our operations are currently impacted, we are seeking professional legal advice and will pursue all available avenues to resolve this matter. We are confident in our adherence to public safety and legal requirements, and we look forward to a positive outcome.

In the interest of transparency and community engagement, we invite your support as we work through this challenge. If you appreciate LaserShoot’s role in Sydney’s entertainment landscape, please consider sharing your positive experiences:

  • Providing Letters of Support: We would be grateful for letters in your own words, describing what our business means to you, your customers, or the community. Repeat visitors are encouraged to share their stories of enjoyment and the value we provide. These can be emailed to info@lasershoot.com.au
  • Contacting Representatives: You may also wish to reach out to your local Member of Parliament or the Minister for Police to express your views on the importance of businesses like ours.

Your voices can help demonstrate the positive contributions we’ve made over the past Three decades.

We thank you for your understanding and continued loyalty as we navigate this process. LaserShoot is more than a business—it’s a community built on fun and trust. We are optimistic about resolving this promptly and resuming our services soon.
